Sylvie Chartrand studied graphic arts at the UQAM in Montreal, Canada, later working for a 3D animation and video game company before turning to puppets.
Today she is one of the young artists exploring new means of creation around visuals, games and manipulation. She uses a digital connection to replace the wires traditionally linking the puppeteer to the puppets. Far from a passing fad, she continues to appropriate new technologies and uses them in the art of manipulation and movement, breathing a distinctly new life into the genre.
