The poetry of everyday life, the language of the unconscious with the vocabulary of the body. A journey into the hearts of people that captures their intimacy as it happens and unknown to them.

A female traveller asked people she encountered in Quebec, Mexico and Syria to give her a gesture. From this collection, she gleaned gestures that are striking in their eloquence. Gesticulations and postures make up her artistic reflection on the role of gesture as an unconscious vector for the very essence of a being. Whether moving or funny, this gleaner of gestures succeeds in communicating all the meaning and depth of body language.

The gleaner changed into an amateur ethnologist in order to compose this geography of memory. In the course of her travels she gathered and noted her impressions, the intimate and trivial centuries-old gestures that met her eye, a collection of gestures that seemed to sketch the outlines of memory.

The actress illustrates her journey with images borrowed from Montreal and Mexico, often filming people without their knowledge. Subtle lighting completes the scenography, suggesting the temperature, atmosphere and impressions of places, alongside images, text and expressions of the body.
