Jan Vermeersch received a multi-disciplinary education from Bram Dobbelaere at Woesh, the circus school based in Bruges. Self-taught Sander De Cuyper decided to take up a course at the same school, and this encounter led to the creation of their first trio.
At Jan’s initiative, they formed their own circus company, Cirq'Ulation Locale, creating a memorable debut show and following it up with a series of improvised performances. This promising start inspired them to pursue further training at the Espace Catastrophe in Brussels. Bram and Jan subsequently trained as teachers at the Ecole de Cirque in Brussels, while Jan also took a professional course at the Lido in Toulouse.
What first seemed like a distant dream soon came to be a reality: in July 2002, Cirq'Ulation Locale became a fully-fledged professional company.
They have been winning over audiences in Belgium and across Europe ever since, with their unique combination of juvenile enthusiasm, circus techniques (juggling, acrobatics) and humour.
