Maksim Isaev, Pavel Semtchenko and Vadim Vasiliev are all former members of Boris Ponizovski’s "Yes-No" theatre, who founded the Akhe Group with the purpose of achieving total independence in terms of both style and form.
Since 1996, the company has operated more along the lines of a collective, regularly performing at festivals in Russia and elsewhere.
The Akhe Group frequently collaborates with other companies (including Derevo, Lantaaren, Toihaus, Slava Polunin) on various theatrical projects, contributing their talents as artists, stage designers and directors.
The founders’ background in fine art has also enabled them to work as painters and designers for an array of arts spaces and public places. 
The company excels at using panoramic spaces, creating immersive experiences with the help of innovative sound and light design, making the space itself a protagonist in the drama.
