Cia Marie de Jongh

Intense, emotional masked theatre, a reflection on love and the passing of time…

They start out as children, living and playing without a care in the world. Then all of a sudden, sixty years have gone by. They have loved, suffered, seen the darker side of life. But, where there is love, there is always hope…
Masked theatre troupe Marie de Jongh present an intense, moving show. Decked out in masks and wigs, the performers convey the many colours of existence through their expressive movements, transforming the theatre into an arena for wordless communication, inviting the whole family to share in their laughter, emotions, questions and certainties. A universal ode to love, curiosity and kindness. Amour is for everybody, regardless of age.
This piece won the Ercilla Award for best Basque production in 2015, the Feten Award 2016 for best show in Gijón, Spain, the Alcides Moreno Prize 2017, the Villa de Cataya Prize 2017 and the National Youth Theatre Prize in 2018 (awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Culture).
