Cie Haut les Mains

A fanciful duet between a minuscule puppet and a musician trying to teach him about rhythm, shot through with a sense of sly poetry.

Caboche is French slang for head, but is often used to refer to somebody considered stubborn, hard-headed or obstinate.
Accord Caboche is a musical puppet show conceived as a duet in three movements, recounting the interactions of a double bassist and a little creature with a wooden head.
The size of a crotchet, but stubbornly off-beat, this hard-headed little fellow could do with a little tuning up. His musician friend, a bespectacled spectacle holding down the rhythm section of this dissonant encounter, can’t help pitching things in a minor key. A meeting of unusual minds, moderato but played pizzicato. A duet in three parts, as fleeting as a grace note.
