A singular journey into a world without light...

An old, blind musician walks gingerly across his bedroom: earlier in the day, a chance encounter brought the past tumbling back into his life… And so he takes the audience with him on a journey through his memories, as certain moments emerge from the darkness…
“If you’re looking for infinity, just close your eyes” (Milan Kundera). Isn’t it true that anything becomes possible when you close your eyes? Strange images appear, as your thoughts begin to flirt with the irrational. The world becomes a bizarre and dangerous place; past, present and future collide. Darkness opens the imagination and awakens the more savage and mysterious side in all of us...
This is a truly unique show, never before seen in France: a journey into a world without light. The lead character in Blind Man’s Song is a musician who shares his rage against the dying of the light, as well as the emotions he experiences, and the power of his imagination, inviting the audience to ask themselves the question: what is more important, reality or imagination? Drawing inspiration from the works of Magritte as well as the shadowy universe of Samuel Beckett, Blind Man’s Song is the fruit of a year spent working with blind and visually-impaired people. Combining theatre of movement, sound, illusions and live music, this is an intense, emotional adventure.
