Phare Ponleu Selpak (PPSA) is a Cambodian non-profit association working to improve the lives of children, young adults, and their families through art schools, educational programmes and social support. Phare Ponleu Selpak believes passionately in the power of the arts as a tool for human development and social change. Phare Ponleu Selpak is dedicated to providing a nurturing and creative environment where young people can access quality arts training, education, and social support.
PPSA’s Visual and Applied Arts School is the foremost program of its kind in Cambodia. The Performing Arts School gives local children access to circus, theatre, dance, and music. The 4 to 6-year vocational training programme provides a pathway to employment as a performer. PPSA alumni have gone on to perform and study all over the world. PPSA upholds and protects children’s rights through its dedicated Child Protection Programme. PPSA’s mission is to build a sustainable artistic community within Cambodia, offering solid employment opportunities for graduates through the association’s social enterprise partners. This noble project continues to develop and grow, and 2016 saw the inauguration of Phare Creative Studios, a Cambodian graphic design and animation studio.
