In search of a new approach to physicality, Marta Torrents first turned to the theatre of movement, studying at L’Institut del Teatre before pursuing circus studies at Barcelona’s Rogelio Rivel school, where she specialised in acrobatic lifts.
Seeking to transcend technical and performative constraints and achieve a perfect union of circus, dance and theatre, she enrolled at the Lido Centre for Circus Arts in Toulouse. She soon formed a duo with Pau Portabella, Fet a Mà, and began collaborating with Cie d’Elles and Cridacompany. She has since formed her own company. With Brut, she steps off the stage for her first experience as director.
