Compagnie Bivouac’s creations combine elements of theatrical stagecraft, dance and circus performance, all in the service of the story. Stage design is approached as a form of living sculpture, and often provides the starting point for their writing. The company maintains the diverse spirit of an artistic collective, bringing together a visual artist with a passion for the circus, a stage director in search of new artistic idioms, and a performer pushing his body into new places. All three are united by the conviction that there are still uncharted artistic territories to be explored, and that the collision of different artistic sensibilities can pave the way for new forms of writing.
