The artists of L’oubliée combine theatre, circus, dance, music and cinema with a meticulous focus on lighting, turning to aerial techniques to breathe new life into traditional theatrical disciplines. The company’s creations include: Consolations, ou interdiction de passer par-dessus bord, hosted by the Académie Fratellini (2013), L’oubliée (2014), 5èmes Hurlants (2015), La bête noire (2017) and La chute des anges (2018).
Raphaëlle Boitel is a director and choreographer born in 1984, who started out in the theatre aged 6. Scouted by Annie Fratellini, she joined the Fratellini National Circus School in 1992. From 1998 to 2010 she worked with James Thierrée and made her name in La Symphonie du Hanneton and La Veillée des Abysses. In thirteen years as a touring artist she appeared on stage, in films, on television (working with Marc Lainé, Lisa Guédy, Graham Eatough, Luc Meyer, Colline Serreau, Jean-Paul Scarpita, etc.) and in countless events (Jean-François Zygel) and videos, as well as spending lengthy spells with various cabarets in New York, Miami, London, etc. In 2012, after working with Aurélien Bory Géométrie de Caoutchouc, she founded her own company and began working on her first original creations.
