Aurélie Gard and Nathalie Bruère are united in their passion for blurring the lines between theatre, dance, visual arts and street performance.
Based in France’s Cantal region, Trace(s) en Poudre has laid down roots in the local community with its multi-disciplinary approach to artistic creation, with pieces designed to engage with local audiences in urban and rural environments. The company’s co-directors share a certain vision of theatre, setting its sights on the world and reconciling the exteriority of performance with the interiority of individual, human existence. Their heightened perception of reality serves to raise unexpected questions, unsettle old certainties and probe hidden wounds. Their shows are fuelled by a spirit of salutary confrontation: bodies in shock, mechanics / intimacy, bodies in their raw natural state. The body as language, the umbilical cord between the stage and the audience. A dynamic that leaves a mark, whether visible or invisible.
