Theatre Re is an international ensemble founded by Guillaume Pigé in 2009, while he was still a student at the International School of Corporeal Mime in London.
In 2011 he was joined by a new artistic partner: musician and composer Alex Judd. Joining forces with writer Adam Taylor and actress Tugba Tarner, they created an original piece entitled The Gambler, winning their first grant from Arts Council England. The company decided to set up home in Haringey (London), and soon formed a lasting and fruitful partnership with Haringey Council.
In 2013, Theatre Re was invited to become a partner company of South Hill Park Arts Centre in Bracknell.
In 2014 Malik Ibheis joined the company, followed in 2015 by Katherine Graham.
Together they have pursued intimate collaborations with artists from different fields and practices, as well as working with various community groups wherein each participant plays a crucial part in the artistic process.
The company has continued to develop and grow, receiving further support from Greenwich Theatre. Following a hugely successful Edinburgh run, the company took its original production Blind Man's Song on tour across the UK, Germany and France. The show was even selected by The Culture Trip as one of the top local tips for the UK in 2016.
In 2016, Theatre Re became a partner company of The Point, Eastleigh.
The collective also received funding from the ACE, to support the development of a new project entitled Birth.
In 2018, Theatre Re became an @Home company in residence at The Point, Eastleigh, while also working with budding actors from the Fourth Monkey Theatre Company to create a new project which will be presented at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2018.
