On an immense iceberg, a man and a woman are drifting nowhere in particular. Minuscule and lost in the world, somehow they never give up …
With his subtly poetic sense of humour, drawing inspiration from silent movies, mime and life’s general absurdity, Spanish clown Leandre has been touring the world for years. Accompanied by Mireia Miracle, he finds himself perched atop an astonishing mountain of ice stranded in the middle of the street. An iceberg and an island, a final retreat, a symbol of emptiness and solitude. Perhaps this pair are the last surviving humans, perhaps they are the first, filling the void, watching the world take form. They don’t seem to have any language, and yet they “speak.” Yetis, clowns, cavemen, shipwrecked sailors, miserable and yet glorious, in their hands this iceberg becomes the setting for an epic adventure, an ode to happiness, optimism and beauty…
Humour, absurdity, nonsense, emotion, emptiness and solitude all collide and coexist in this unique show, set to a musical soundtrack with a certain operatic grandeur.
