Stalker Theatre Company

A fusion of dance, theatre and aerial choreography, where physical power meets the poetry of movement.

An Australian farm stranded in a desert of red sand, flanked by a handful of dead trees…
The beginning of a suite of tableaux alternating between sheer visual poetry and bravura physical performance.
Making innovative use of a variety of performance tools (particularly high stilts and catapults), Australia’s Stalker Theatre Company crafts an impressive, elevated landscape in which the performers flit between the perilous and the poetic, melding dance, acrobatics, theatre and aerial choreography. The electric guitar-led soundscape lends Incognita a certain air of nostalgia, as it examines the intercultural processes of humanity’s relations with the spiritual world, as well as taking on the sensitive subject of relations between white settlers and indigenous Australians.
