L'Envers du Monde
The dancer from a music box makes the most of a mechanical problem to escape and set off on a great adventure. She takes on the mantle of a lion-tamer, ready to conquer wild beasts, but ends up with a goldfish in a bowl. She tries to train as best she can, to no avail: all she can muster is a stream of ephemeral soap bubbles. So she decides to become a bubble tamer…
Laetitia Sioen has definitively mastered the ephemeral art of bubble-taming. Her background in puppetry proves to be perfect preparation for using this most fragile of materials as a “tool for dramatic projection.”
In her expert hands the soap bubbles take on a genuine stage presence, becoming acrobats and tightrope-walkers. Drawing inspiration from silent films, La Dompteuse de Bulles is a playful, poetic show, which deftly interweaves light, video and music to dazzle young audiences and their parents.
