Contrary to what its name suggests, La grande tuerie (the big killing), is a kind of funfair at the end of the twentieth century, which is exciting and liberating, without taboos but somehow anxiety-ridden.
The Oz Theaterland company uses the exhibition process of the fairs of yesteryear, randomly adding film, video, lasers, and references to medieval imagery filled with devils, skeletons and dragons. The resulting show is spectacular, seductive and disturbing, a "furiously kitsch, joyous apocalypse" whose purpose is to reveal the curiosities and excesses of a turbulent and unpredictable era.
