Théâtre Alfred
Two clowns entertain themselves by throwing stacks of plates in the air, on the floor, against the walls. For an hour.
They approach each plate with the same gusto, but the technique differs slightly.
A passion for destruction keeps the whole operation running; oscillating between playfulness and aggression, cunning and naïveté, the two plate smashers are constantly amazed at their handywork. "Oh look! It’s broken..."
Capko is Slovak, Reidinger is Czech: but the pair swap roles and languages half-way through the performance, turning this noisy “household scene” into a reflection on the still-recent separation between Slovakia and the Czech Republic.
